POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the top-level administrator of Life Enhancement Services of Mississippi and is ultimately responsible for all operations, compliance, and service delivery. The ED must be attested to full-time employment and is the primary point of accountability to the Mississippi DMH for all certification and operational matters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide executive-level leadership and strategic direction for all agency operations
- Ensure full compliance with Mississippi DMH Operational Standards and all applicable state and federal regulations
- Oversee all clinical, administrative, and fiscal operations of the agency
- Serve as primary liaison to the Board of Directors and Mississippi DMH Division of Certification
- Maintain the agency's DMH Certificate of Operation and ensure continued certification compliance
- Sign and submit all required DMH application materials, attestation forms, and statements of assurance
- Supervise all department directors and senior leadership
- Develop and implement agency-wide policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
- Designate and oversee qualified on-site leadership in their absence, per DMH Rule 11.4.A
- Report all required changes to DMH as outlined in Rule 7.3
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS — REQUIRED BY MISSISSIPPI DMH
The following qualifications are mandated by the Mississippi DMH 2024 Operational Standards (Rule 11.4.A | Rule 2.8.G.14) and are non-negotiable for this position.
- Must meet updated qualification standards set forth in Mississippi DMH Operational Standards Rule 11.4.A (2024)
- Must be employed full-time by the agency — full-time employment attestation form required per Rule 2.8.G.14
- If not on-site at all times, must formally designate a qualified on-site person who meets applicable DMH qualifications
- Must sign the DMH statement of assurance confirming review of all applicable DMH Operational Standards sections
- Must have no disqualifying criminal background events as determined by DMH
- Official transcripts and/or verifiable credential copies must be submitted to DMH as part of the certification application
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or higher in mental health, public administration, business administration, or related field
- Five (5) or more years of progressive leadership experience in a behavioral health or community mental health setting
- Prior experience with DMH provider certification or Medicaid Rehabilitation Option billing
- Familiarity with Mississippi DMH Operational Standards and DOM requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a community-based setting
BACKGROUND CHECK & COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check with no disqualifying events as determined by DMH
- Must provide official transcripts and/or verifiable professional credential copies prior to hire
- Must complete all required DMH orientation and staff development activities upon hire
- Must maintain active licensure/credentialing throughout employment
- Must comply with all applicable Mississippi DMH Operational Standards and DOM Rehabilitation Option requirements
Pay: $57,877.64 - $69,702.10 per year
