Life Enhancement Services of Mississippi is a private community-based mental health agency seeking certification by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH) to provide quality, person-centered mental health services to adults and/or children and youth across the state. Our mission is to enhance the lives of Mississippians through compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health care.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Director is responsible for the oversight and supervision of all clinical programs and therapeutic services provided by Life Enhancement Services of Mississippi. This position ensures that all clinical operations meet DMH certification standards, professional licensure requirements, and evidence-based practice standards for the populations served.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and supervise all clinical staff including therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and community support specialists
  • Ensure all clinical services are delivered in accordance with DMH Operational Standards and within staff's licensed scope of practice
  • Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and quality assurance protocols
  • Provide clinical supervision and professional development for licensed and credentialed clinical staff
  • Participate in DMH compliance reviews, site visits, and certification processes
  • Review and approve individualized treatment plans, Plans of Services, and clinical documentation
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings and care coordination activities
  • Maintain compliance with Mississippi Division of Medicaid Rehabilitation Option requirements
  • Report clinical incidents and ensure timely completion of DMH incident reporting requirements
  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives related to clinical service delivery

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS — REQUIRED BY MISSISSIPPI DMH

The following qualifications are mandated by the Mississippi DMH 2024 Operational Standards (Rule 11.3 | Rule 11.10) and are non-negotiable for this position.

  • Must hold an active, unrestricted professional license in mental health issued by an appropriate Mississippi licensing board (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Physician/Psychiatrist)
  • Must operate exclusively within the scope of their respective state license per Rule 11.3.G
  • Responsible for overseeing all clinical operations in compliance with DMH Operational Standards Rule 11.3 and Rule 11.10
  • Must have no disqualifying criminal background events as determined by DMH
  • Must provide official transcripts and verifiable copies of professional licensure at time of application

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree or higher (doctorate preferred) in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical supervisory experience in a community mental health setting
  • Experience with adult Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and/or children/youth Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) populations
  • Familiarity with DMH credentialing programs and Mississippi Medicaid Rehabilitation Option
  • Experience with crisis services, community support services, and outpatient therapy program management

BACKGROUND CHECK & COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check with no disqualifying events as determined by DMH
  • Must provide official transcripts and/or verifiable professional credential copies prior to hire
  • Must complete all required DMH orientation and staff development activities upon hire
  • Must maintain active licensure/credentialing throughout employment
  • Must comply with all applicable Mississippi DMH Operational Standards and DOM Rehabilitation Option requirements

Pay: $68,332.18 - $82,292.52 per year
