The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assuring the maintenance department runs in an efficient and safe manner, while assuring records are accurate and manufacturing plant needs are met, to meet customers’ standards and requests.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assuring the maintenance department runs in an efficient and safe manner, while assuring records are accurate and manufacturing plant needs are met, to meet customers’ standards and requests.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Libbey internal customers to meet/surpass their expectations
- Create and execute continuous improvement and cost saving projects
- Direct a union hourly workforce made up of multiple skilled trades.
- Motivate the hourly work force through communication, teaching and development
- Ensure and maintain a safe and OSHA compliant work environment
- Responsible for keeping maintenance records as well as other administration duties
- Process material for work to be accomplished. This includes working with vendors, quoting, etc.
- Partner with various outside contractors; providing direction as needed
- Identify quick response needs and exercise good judgments in ensuring plant needs are met and problems are solved
- High School Diploma/GED is required
- 5 years of Skilled Trade supervisory experience
- Experience with industrial processes and equipment (gear boxes, conveyors, gas trains, utilities, etc)
- Experience with general maintenance and facility operation activities
- Technical experience with building systems, material handling and conveyance.
- Must be able to pass respirator testing
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized to accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Effectively work with Libbey’s JDE, WM, ITLS and application software
- PC skills, including Microsoft Office
- Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers to operate office tools
- Frequent speaking/listening in face-to-face and/or phone conversations
- Occasional reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching
- Close-up vision necessary
- Experience with ram material handling equipment, silos, and weighing systems is preferred
- Experience directing construction projects and the rebuilding of key machinery and equipment is preferred
- Experience with furnaces, forehearths and combustion equipment is preferred
