Vice President of Finance
Gurnee, IL Area | Convenient Northern Lake County Location
A privately held, multi-location consumer services and retail organization with approximately $100 million in annual revenue is seeking a hands-on Vice President of Finance to lead their next chapter of company growth. This is a highly visible leadership role for a finance executive who enjoys partnering with operations, leading people, influencing strategy, and helping a growing organization make sound business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead accounting and finance operations across a multi-location business
- Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and financial statement review
- Manage treasury, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and liquidity planning
- Coordinate annual audits and compliance activities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting
- Partner with executive leadership on operational and strategic decisions
- Lead, mentor, and develop a tenured accounting team
- Drive process improvements and reporting enhancements
Required Qualifications
- Controller, VP Finance, Finance Director, or similar senior finance leadership experience
- Strong accounting foundation with ownership of close and financial reporting
- Treasury and cash management experience
- Audit leadership experience
- Team leadership experience, including mentoring managers and professional staff
- Experience within multi-location, operationally complex businesses
- Ability to thrive in a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves environment
- Executive presence combined with an approachable, low-ego leadership style
Additional Preferred Experience
- Senior finance leadership within a multi-site operating environment
- Ownership of accounting, treasury, audit, planning, and financial reporting
- Experience supporting location-based, franchise, dealer, retail, or service-oriented business models
- Strong command of unit economics, KPI reporting, operational finance, and growth planning
- Proven ability to partner with ownership and executive leadership in a privately held, entrepreneurial organization

Compensation
- $200,000-250,000 base salary
- Flexibility for exceptional candidates
- Discretionary bonus opportunity (target 10%-20%)
