Job Description:
Title: Senior SEC Reporting Analyst
Industry: Logistics/Trucking
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Setting: Hybrid (4 days onsite/week)
Compensation: $90k - $100k discretionary bonus 2 weeks PTO (Increases in year 2 and 4 by one week) 401k matching (3% match)
Job Responsibilities: What You’ll Do
- Lead the execution of assigned accounting and financial reporting initiatives, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established deadlines. Prepare, review, and distribute internal and external financial reports, along with other assigned reporting projects.
- Perform accounting for complex areas including derivatives, securitizations, consolidations, and stock-based compensation.
- Support the identification and prioritization of accounting and reporting initiatives to align with broader corporate objectives.
- Prepare, review, and distribute earnings releases and periodic filings, including annual, quarterly, and current reports.
- Prepare and compile financial data and supporting schedules for required financial statement disclosures, including cash flow statements, equity statements, consolidating schedules, exhibits, footnotes, and MD&A.
- Monitor new accounting standards and regulatory guidance, assess potential impacts, and communicate findings to leadership.
- Review disclosure requirements to identify potential gaps or deficiencies.
- Research complex accounting and regulatory matters as assigned and remain current on evolving guidance.
- Assist with external audit activities as needed.
- Coordinate financial communication with senior management and governance groups when required.
- Analyze account balances and activity to explain variances, identify issues, and support accurate and complete disclosures.
- Partner cross‑functionally with accounting, finance, billing, and IT teams.
- Prepare and support XBRL filings.
- Proactively support team initiatives and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.
Qualifications: What You’ll Bring
- 3 years of public accounting experience with hands‑on exposure to financial statement preparation and review.
- Experience with periodic SEC filings (10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K) and electronic filing systems preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- CPA required or working towards CPA
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an MBA preferred.
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
