The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing operations through process improvement, CNC machining advancements, capital equipment implementation, and operational excellence initiatives. This position partners closely with production, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support long-term business growth. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in CNC manufacturing, CAD/CAM programming, project management, and Lean manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Improvement:
- Lead initiatives that improve productivity, quality, throughput, and overall manufacturing performance.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to eliminate waste, improve cycle times, and increase operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement standardized processes that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
- Utilize data-driven methodologies to support continuous improvement efforts across the operation.
CNC Engineering & Programming:
- Support and optimize CNC machining processes through advanced CAD/CAM applications.
- Evaluate tooling strategies, machine capabilities, and production workflows to maximize performance.
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve manufacturability and process reliability.
- Assist with equipment selection, process validation, and implementation of new machining technologies.
Capital Projects & Project Management:
- Manage multiple CAPEX and process improvement projects simultaneously from concept through implementation.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and execution plans.
- Coordinate internal resources, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project completion.
- Monitor project performance and deliver measurable operational improvements.
Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis:
- Lead cross-functional teams in identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges.
- Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies to implement permanent corrective actions.
- Drive initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving first-pass yield, and increasing equipment effectiveness.
- Support quality and operational excellence objectives through robust analytical approaches.
Continuous Improvement Leadership:
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies throughout the facility.
- Facilitate kaizen events and process improvement workshops.
- Mentor teams in best practices related to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
- Experience in CNC manufacturing environments.
- Strong proficiency with CAD and CAM software.
- Demonstrated success leading CAPEX projects and manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, machining operations, and production systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, maintenance, and leadership teams.
- Lean Manufacturing certification or practical Lean leadership experience.
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing data analysis tools.
- Background supporting precision machining or highly engineered manufacturing operations.
- Proven success driving measurable operational cost savings and productivity improvements.
Compensation Range: $75,000 - $105,000
