Senior Cost Accountant

We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Central Texas to hire a hands‑on Cost Accountant with strong SAP experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to operations, digging into inventory and cost data, and ensuring the numbers truly reflect what’s happening on the production floor.

The Role

This position will focus on manufacturing cost accounting, with ownership of inventory, WIP, and COGS. You’ll work directly in SAP, partner closely with Operations and Supply Chain, and support month‑end close activities related to manufacturing and inventory.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own inventory, WIP, and COGS accounting for a manufacturing operation
• Work hands‑on in SAP to analyze transactional‑level data and inventory movement
• Trace cost flow through production to validate accuracy
• Reconcile inventory and cost‑related balance sheet accounts
• Support month‑end close activities tied to manufacturing
• Partner with Operations to resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system data
• Identify opportunities to improve cost accounting processes and controls

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong cost accounting and inventory accounting background
• Hands‑on SAP experience (required)
• Comfortable working independently and digging into ERP detail
• Practical, detail‑oriented, and collaborative working style

Nice to Have

• Advanced or industrial manufacturing experience
• Experience supporting ERP or process improvement initiatives
• Direct partnership with plant or operations teams
