Job Summary
A growing manufacturer of highly engineered products for the aerospace, military, and medical industries is seeking a Quality Assurance Support Specialist to join its team in Southwestern Connecticut. This role is responsible for in-process and final inspection of mechanical parts, electronic assemblies, and finished products. The position also supports the company’s quality management systems, including ISO 9001, AS9100, FAA, and TUV compliance.
This is a hands-on role within a collaborative, high-performance team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about quality. You’ll be part of a close-knit group with exposure to all aspects of the business, from inspection to compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and final products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Recommend and support corrective and preventive actions to improve product and process quality.
- Maintain and update First Article Inspection Reports.
- Support internal and external audits and help maintain the company’s quality management system.
- Manage and maintain documentation, including inspection logs, reports, and quality records.
- Monitor expiration-sensitive materials (e.g., adhesives, inks).
- Coordinate with vendors for certifications and corrective action responses.
- Assist in managing and updating FAA repair documentation.
- Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by following established procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in quality control inspection.
- 3–5 years of experience working with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Strong understanding of core quality system requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude and solid arithmetic skills.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
