We are looking for a project accountant for a new role in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of payroll and accounts payable experience, a strong attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

• Process and submit certified payroll for prevailing‑wage projects using required agency or contractor systems.
• Manage accounts payable, including invoice coding, vendor reconciliation, and timely payment processing.
• Maintain accurate job‑cost records, including labor, equipment, purchase orders, and project schedules.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial documentation to support audits and month‑end close.
• Ensure full compliance with prevailing wage requirements and collect certified payroll documentation from subcontractors.

Qualifications:

• Experience in construction accounting with hands‑on certified payroll and prevailing‑wage reporting.
• Strong accounts payable background, including invoice processing and vendor communication.
• Proficiency with accounting and payroll software such as QuickBooks, Paychex, or LCP tracker.
• Ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial documentation.
• Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills with the ability to partner with project managers and field teams.
