Operations Manager – Manufacturing
A growing industrial manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day plant performance in a continuous, 24/7 production environment. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while building strong engagement across supervisors and hourly teams.
The Operations Manager will oversee production execution, workforce management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure operational targets for safety, quality, service, and cost are consistently met. This position works closely with site leadership to implement operational strategies, improve performance, and support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key areas of responsibility include leading front-line supervisors, supporting hiring and training of hourly employees, managing performance and discipline processes, and ensuring clear communication across operations and leadership. The role also partners with maintenance and technical teams to minimize downtime, support equipment reliability, and maintain steady production flow.
The ideal candidate brings significant supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices. Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically demanding industrial setting is required.
Qualifications include:
- 7 years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Experience leading teams in a continuous operations setting
- Background in lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
This role operates in an industrial plant environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and physical activity, and requires strict adherence to safety standards.
