What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environment, Health and Safety Manager position at LHH?
LHH is seeking an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located on the Southside of Indianapolis, Indiana. If selected for this role, you would be responsible for leading the EHS program, fostering and maintaining a culture of safety, and ensuring compliance within EHS policies, laws, and regulations. Compensation ranges from $80,000-95,000 and includes multiple medical insurance options, 401K match, and generous PTO and holiday offerings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
- Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain loss prevention programs to reduce and control workplace injuries and hazards.
- Conduct accident investigations and complete root-cause analysis and/or gap analysis to identify the source of a safety issue and take necessary action to resolve the problem.
- Analyze safety data looking for trends and areas for improvement.
- Coach and mentor staff with specific safety roles to ensure successful compliance.
- Protect employees, customers, and the environment by identifying and correcting potentially hazardous situations or business practices.
- Recommend changes to protect workers and work to educate them on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs.
- Investigate accidents to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future.
- Draft and maintain EHS policies, ensuring compliance for all EHS standards.
- Work closely with those at all levels of the organization regarding safety matters.
- Perform gap analysis and develop action plans.
- Assist with Legal Compliance Audits whenever necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in EHS or Public Health is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment is required
- Preference toward candidates with safety certifications (i.e. Certified Safety Professional, OSHA, etc.)
- Must be comfortable working with both blue and white collared colleagues
- Must be willing to learn, self-motivated, and a positive leader
