What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Services Procurement Manager position at LHH?
LHH is partnering with a rapidly scaling, private equity-backed infrastructure platform to identify a Construction Services Procurement Manager. This organization is in aggressive growth mode, expanding its footprint across North America and Europe, and is positioned to become a global leader in mission-critical infrastructure.
This role sits within a lean, high-impact procurement team and will play a pivotal role in supporting large-scale construction and development initiatives. The focus is not on materials or equipment procurement—this position is exclusively responsible for sourcing and managing construction-related service providers.
Position Overview
This individual will lead the end-to-end procurement of construction services, partnering closely with development, design, and project delivery teams to ensure best-in-class vendor selection and commercial outcomes.
You will own the full lifecycle of the RFP/RFQ process—from initial stakeholder alignment through final award—while driving cost transparency, scope alignment, and vendor performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement efforts for construction-related services, including:
- Architects, engineers, design consultants
- General contractors and trade partners
- Commissioning agents and specialty service providers
- Manage the full RFP/RFQ lifecycle:
- Scope development and documentation
- Bid solicitation and vendor engagement
- Cost analysis, bid leveling, and benchmarking
- Vendor interviews and evaluation
- Contract negotiation and award execution
- Partner with internal stakeholders across development and project teams to align procurement strategy with project timelines and delivery goals
- Drive commercial rigor through pricing validation, scope clarification, and contract structuring
- Build and maintain a strong network of qualified service providers to support ongoing and future project needs
Required Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in procurement, preconstruction, estimating, or project management within construction environments
- Proven experience procuring construction services (not materials or equipment)
- Demonstrated ownership of RFP/RFQ processes from initiation through award
- Background in commercial or industrial construction environments (mission-critical or large-scale projects preferred)
- Strong understanding of project delivery lifecycle, particularly preconstruction and planning phases
- Experience evaluating vendor proposals, leveling bids, and negotiating commercial terms
Preferred Background
- Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Background with a commercial general contractor or mechanical/electrical trade partner
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Exposure to ERP or procurement platforms (e.g., Oracle, Workday)
What This Role Offers
- Opportunity to join a high-growth, well-capitalized organization with global expansion plans
- Direct impact on large-scale, complex construction initiatives
- Visibility across development, procurement, and project leadership teams
- Strong compensation package including base salary, bonus, and comprehensive benefits
- Relocation support available for top-tier candidates
Why This Role Matters
This is not a traditional procurement position. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of construction project delivery and the ability to operate as a strategic partner to development and project teams.
If your background is primarily in materials or supply chain procurement, this will not be the right fit. This role is built for individuals who understand how to source, evaluate, and contract the people and firms that execute complex construction projects.
If you’re looking to step into a high-visibility role within a scaling infrastructure platform—and have the right blend of construction and procurement expertise—we want to connect.
