Procurement People has been exclusively retained to appoint a Procurement Manager – Strategic Sourcing for a growing procurement organisation within a US‑based Oil & Gas company.
This is a highly visible role supporting midstream operations and capital projects across a multi‑state asset portfolio. The environment is delivery‑driven, stakeholder‑led, and continuing to mature from a procurement capability perspective. As such, this role is well-suited to a procurement leader who delivers through influence, credibility, and commercial acumen rather than reliance on rigid process.
The Role
As Procurement Manager – Strategic Sourcing, you will serve as the primary procurement partner to midstream and project stakeholders, providing commercial leadership across both capital and operational expenditure. Responsibilities include:
- Acting as the lead procurement business partner for midstream operations and capital projects
- Managing sourcing, contracting, and supplier engagement across a diverse spend portfolio
- Navigating a demanding, operational stakeholder environment with a high degree of autonomy
- Introducing pragmatic structure, governance, and commercial discipline over time
- Driving supplier performance and value realisation while supporting immediate delivery needs
- Balancing hands‑on execution with longer‑term strategic and capability development initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Solid procurement experience at Senior Buyer, Procurement Manager, or equivalent level
- Background within oil & gas, energy, or similarly asset‑intensive industrial environments
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior, operationally focused stakeholders
- Commercially sharp, resilient, and comfortable operating in evolving or low‑maturity environments
- Experience supporting capital projects and complex operational spend strongly preferred
Package
- Base salary: $140,000 – $145,000
