Location: 100% Remote (Open to U.S. time zones)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Core hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (flexible)
Contract Duration: 6 months (extension possible)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Architect to support cloud platform modernization and migration initiatives within a highly technical, cloud‑focused organization. This role is ideal for an experienced architect who combines strong AWS expertise, broad technical knowledge, and a forward-thinking approach to designing and improving scalable cloud platforms.
You will collaborate with a team of architects and engineers to evaluate existing systems, modernize architecture, improve performance and resiliency, and drive cost optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to cloud migration and modernization initiatives
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, and cost‑effective cloud architectures
- Review existing systems and architecture to identify modernization and efficiency opportunities
- Provide actionable architectural recommendations grounded in best practices
- Partner with engineering and platform teams to improve processes, tooling, and performance
- Act as a technical advisor and thought leader across cloud initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in architecture‑focused technical roles
- Strong AWS cloud experience, including services such as:
- EC2, Lambda, ECS
- VPCs, ALB/NLB, API Gateway, Transit Gateway
- Hands‑on experience with:
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer)
- Containers (Docker)
- Configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef)
- Strong programming background
- Python and JavaScript required
- Additional languages a plus (Java, Go, C , etc.)
- Experience with Linux systems (Ubuntu, RHEL)
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk)
Nice to Have
- Experience with CDN, DNS, and WAF tools (Cloudflare, Akamai)
- Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DocumentDB)
- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Maven, or Ant
- Experience in Agile development environments
