LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a manufacturing client in the Cincinnati, Ohio area to identify a Buyer to support plant operations and supply chain performance. This role is responsible for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely availability of goods to support production schedules, quality standards, and inventory objectives. This position is direct hire and will pay between $65K and $75K annually.
Responsibilities
- Reviewed MRP requirements on a daily basis to ensure timely procurement aligned with manufacturing schedules.
- Managed the full purchase order lifecycle, including creation, review, follow-up, and coordination through invoice resolution.
- Built and maintained effective supplier relationships to support cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Maintained inventory levels in alignment with established inventory strategies and performance metrics.
- Coordinated with receiving teams to ensure required documentation was in place prior to supplier deliveries.
- Negotiated pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost-effective procurement of materials, including production components, MRO items, non-stock items, and Kanban-based orders.
- Managed RFQ processes and evaluated supplier bids.
- Partnered with Quality teams to establish and maintain supplier specifications and quality standards.
- Supported material defect investigations and corrective action efforts with suppliers, ensuring clear communication across internal teams.
- Identified cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service expectations.
- Assisted with supply chain risk assessment activities and development of contingency plans.
- Monitored and reported on supplier performance metrics and trends.
- Worked closely with warehouse and accounting teams to resolve receiving, invoicing, and pricing discrepancies.
- Utilized data analysis to support purchasing metrics and departmental dashboards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of related purchasing or supply chain experience, or equivalent applicable work experience.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
