What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at LHH?
LHH is collaborating with a small Non-Profit company dedicated to providing exceptional value and make a difference locally. Located near Sacramento, this company offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment where innovation and expertise are highly valued and rewarded. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day financial operations including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, bank deposits, grant billing, bank deposits etc.).
- Managing financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
- Compliance with filing deadlines for payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, W2s, 1099s and other required filings.
- Compliance with account policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monthly and annual close process to ensure timely, accurate reporting.
- Monitoring of cash levels.
- Analysis of monthly financial results and reporting to management.
- Preparation of grant budgets and other information for grant proposals.
- Coordination with independent auditor to complete the annual audit and provide information for other audits as required.
- Develop and manage the annual budget including preparation of periodic budget forecasts.
- Maintaining complete filing system to support financial records, implement document disposal policy annually.
- Maintaining grant proposals, awards and agreements to support financial transactions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the Non-Profit industry
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting in finance or accounting, CPA a plus
- 3 years working in accounting
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with leadership staff and board members.
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Outstanding communicator both verbally and written
