Job Title: Battery Systems Engineer
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
Salary: $80,000-$105,000
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Battery Systems Engineer to join our client's organization in the Buffalo Grove, IL area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and validation of battery systems, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers.
- Develop and execute test plans for battery cells, packs, and products, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
- Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring adherence to system requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis, propose corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement for battery system performance and reliability.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, plan and coordinate engineering work, and facilitate design reviews and technical discussions.
- Stay current with battery technology trends, compliance, and regulatory standards, and provide guidance on best practices.
- Maintain and improve engineering documentation, support cost modeling, and minimize financial impact during system integration.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years of direct experience in battery systems engineering or a related field.
- Advanced understanding of lithium-ion battery management, charging strategies, and circuits.
- Strong technical, analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with experience managing complex projects.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed and collaborate with diverse teams.
