About the Role
LHH is partnering with a manufacturing organization in the Ann Arbor area in the search for an Assistant Controller. They are looking for a hands-on accounting leader with strong experience in month end close, inventory and cost accounting. This organization prioritizes collaborative work practices and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage cash flow and oversee AP, AR, payroll, and benefits
- Prepare financial statements and lead the month-end close process
- Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations
- Handle sales tax filings, income tax documentation, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Review variance analysis and perform ad-hoc financial and operational analysis
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, oversee inventory and purchasing
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger and manage compliance for banking, HR, insurance, and leases
- Special projects and ad hoc responsibilities, as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of experience
- Experience leading or coaching others
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
- ERP experience
- Solid understanding of GAAP
