Accounting Manager

A growing commercial real estate company in the Baltimore Metro area seeks a qualified Accounting ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesManage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for assigned real estate entities and investment vehicles.Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.Oversee property-level accounting prepared by staff or third-party managers to ensure consistency with company policies.Prepare and analyze consolidated portfolio financial reports, variance analyses, and performance metrics.Coordinate annual audits, tax preparation, and compliance filings with external auditors and tax advisors.Collaborate with asset management, acquisitions, and treasury teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and investment decisions.Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls specific to real estate operations.Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff; manage workload and professional development.Assist with system improvements and automation initiatives related to property management or ERP systemsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.6-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in real estate or investment management.Strong understanding of GAAP, consolidations, and real estate-specific accountingProficiency with accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, or similar ERP systems.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and lead a small team in a fast-paced environment.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
