We are conducting a confidential search for two experienced Legal E-Billing Specialists to support a professional services organization’s finance and billing operations.
The E-Billing Specialist will manage the full-cycle legal billing process, including reviewing and editing prebills, preparing invoices, submitting bills through electronic billing platforms, monitoring invoice status, and resolving billing rejections or discrepancies.

This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles. The selected candidates may work remotely two days per week and must report to the Los Angeles office three days per week.

The E-Billing Specialist will manage the full-cycle legal billing process, including reviewing and editing prebills, preparing invoices, submitting bills through electronic billing platforms, monitoring invoice status, and resolving billing rejections or discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle legal billing process from prebill review through final invoice submission.
- Review, edit, and revise prebills based on attorney instructions and client billing requirements.
- Prepare, finalize, and submit accurate invoices for legal services.
- Submit invoices through various electronic billing portals and monitor them through acceptance and payment.
- Review billing data for accuracy and compliance with client billing guidelines.
- Identify and resolve rejected invoices, billing reductions, discrepancies, and electronic billing errors.
- Respond to billing inquiries from attorneys, clients, and internal team members.
- Maintain accurate billing records, adjustments, write-offs, and invoice status information.
- Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative professionals regarding billing deadlines and client requirements.
- Establish and maintain client billing arrangements, rate structures, task codes, and billing instructions.
- Apply LEDES formatting and UTBMS task and activity codes as required.
- Administer monthly billing cycles and complete ad hoc billing requests from billing attorneys.
- Prepare billing summaries, financial reports, and invoice status updates.
- Assist with billing-related reconciliations and reporting.
- Track insurance self-insured retention requirements when applicable.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling client and financial information.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of legal billing or e-billing experience.
- Experience managing full-cycle billing in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Hands-on experience submitting invoices through multiple e-billing portals.
- Advanced understanding of legal billing procedures, client billing guidelines, and time-entry practices.
- Knowledge of LEDES billing formats and UTBMS coding.
- Experience reviewing and correcting rejected or reduced electronic invoices.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple billing deadlines and changing priorities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Law Firm Experience
- Experience with Elite 3E or comparable legal accounting software.
- Experience with e-billing platforms such as Legal Tracker, Tymetrix, Collaborati, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with insurance defense billing requirements and self-insured retention tracking.
