This position plays a vital role in the maintenance and upkeep of approximately 340 buildings under the Area Maintenance Department.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; OR
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Plumbing: Repair and install commodes, lavatories, water fountains, and garbage disposals. Unstop sewer lines and drains, repair leaks, and repair/replace faucets.
- Electrical: Replace Light bulbs. Repair/replace ballasts, receptacles, switches, and fans. Replace motors, pumps, etc.
- Appliance Repair: Repair washing machines, dryers, ice machines, and refrigerators.
- Carpentry: Repair doors, door closers, hinges, cabinet doors, knobs, baseboards, cabinets, furniture, door stops, windows, etc.
- Refrigeration: Performs preventive maintenance and maintenance to A/C units and air handlers. Clean coils; work on pumps to air handlers and motors, chill water valves, controls, belts, and filters.
- Keep a check on hot water temperatures and maintain a log.
- Run and service generators and maintain the log. Inspects fire extinguishers monthly and maintains a log.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: Pinecrest Supports and Services Center – Area Maintenance
Shift: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am - Monday and Tuesday
Appointment Type: **This is a Classified WAE appointment. A classified WAE appointment is a temporary appointment of an employee to fill a position in the classified service for a limited period of time and hours in order to address filling the position in a regular manner or to address an emergency or work overload situation. The classified WAE position cannot exceed 1245 hours during a twelve (12) month period.** Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.
