LaSalle Network is hiring on behalf of a rapidly growing global construction firm. Due to growth, they are seeking a Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to join their team! The Human Resources & Payroll Specialist will provide comprehensive support in HR operations, payroll administration, and contract/legal documentation. This role requires a high degree of confidentiality, precision, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Human Resources & Payroll Specialist Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies
- Assist with payroll preparation and processing, including time and attendance tracking, data verification, and benefits-related deductions
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee files, records, and HR documentation
- Support recruiting efforts by posting open roles, coordinating candidate screenings, and scheduling interviews
- Facilitate pre-employment requirements such as background checks and onboarding compliance
- Coordinate onboarding and separation processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
- Support compliance with internal policies and applicable federal and state employment laws
- Provide administrative and operational support to the HR function as needed
- Draft, edit, proofread, and format contracts and other legal or business documents with accuracy and professionalism
- Organize and maintain contract and case documentation in both electronic and hard-copy systems
- Monitor deadlines related to contracts, renewals, and legal matters and communicate upcoming milestones
- Support the preparation, review, tracking, and management of agreements with employees, vendors, and subcontractors
- Maintain contract databases and ensure timely updates related to renewals, amendments, and expirations
Human Resources & Payroll Specialist Requirements
- BA preferred
- 4 years of human resources experience, ideally in construction or similiar industry
- Payroll administration experience required
- Experience coordinating and proofreading contracts
- Familiarity with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and/or contract management tools; Viewpoint experience strongly preferred
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to proofread and format documents accurately
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
This position is based in Lombard, IL and offers a hybrid working schedule. The salary range for this role is between $70,000-82,000 and offers a discretionary bonus and full benefits including health, dental, vision and a 401k match.
