Payroll & HR SpecialistThe Payroll & HR Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll and HR operations for 200 weekly employees across 8 stores and 1 corporate office. This role manages end-to-end payroll processing—including commissions, bonuses, draws, and wage adjustments—while also supporting the full employee lifecycle. Acting as a frontline HR resource, this position partners closely with store supervisors, the Controller, and the CFO to maintain clean data, audit-ready files, and smooth operational processes.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll OperationsProcess weekly payroll for 200 employees across multiple locations; maintain accurate Paylocity and CDK payroll entries.Calculate and validate commissions, monthly bonuses, and commission draws based on policy and eligibility rules.Track and update PTO balances, wage changes, and compensation adjustments in a timely and compliant manner.Reconcile payroll accounts, post journal entries, and maintain accurate general ledger records across multiple entities.Prepare, distribute, and verify weekly and monthly payroll reports; ensure correct funding and support audit activities.HR Operations & Employee LifecycleManage onboarding and terminations, including system setup, access updates, and CDK role management.Maintain complete, compliant employee files (digital and physical) in alignment with retention and audit standards.Serve as the primary contact for employee questions related to pay, benefits, and system access in Paylocity, CDK, and the Manage Ethos Compliance Portal.Triage HR concerns, facilitate issue resolution, and partner with supervisors on corrective actions.Qualifications3–5 years of high-volume, multi-state payroll and HR operations experience; dealership or multi-location retail experience a plus.Proficiency with Paylocity and CDK; Ethos experience preferred.Strong background in commissions/bonus processing, PTO administration, and wage adjustments.Solid understanding of HR compliance, employment regulations, and recordkeeping standards.Strong attention to detail, deadline discipline, and the ability to work independently within a lean team.Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and clear, firm communication skills.Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across multiple locations.
