Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, utilizing tools like OpenTable or similar reservation systems.
- Present menus confidently, highlight specials, and upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted clearly.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
- Check in with guests regularly to ensure their needs are met, providing excellent customer service and fostering positive guest relations.
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing dishes, resetting tables quickly for new guests, and assisting with general restaurant cleanliness.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately through cashiering processes, including processing payments and giving correct change.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery in a fast-paced environment such as a nightclub or fine dining setting.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, to answer guest questions confidently.
- Support team members during busy hours by assisting with food prep or host/hostess duties when needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife venues.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and handle guest concerns professionally.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling menu items to maximize sales opportunities.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts while maintaining quality service.
- Culinary experience or familiarity with food preparation enhances your ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cashiering and transaction processing.
- Experience working in a nightclub or high-energy hospitality environment is a plus.
