$155,000 - $165,000 per year - Dependent on fit and experience.

As part of this engagement, LABUR is delivering senior-level quality engineering expertise through a Staff Quality Engineer who will help establish scalable quality practices, drive data-informed decisions, and partner closely with cross-functional teams. This initiative is focused on ensuring resilient, high-performing systems and consistently exceptional product outcomes across complex, mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Build comprehensive, bottoms-up test strategies for platform services.
- Write detailed test plans covering a wide range of customer use cases, including functional, compliance, and legal considerations.
- Engage in projects from initiation to identify gaps in requirements and potential failure modes in design.
- Act as a force multiplier by helping development teams shift testing left.
- Design and automate tests based on business value and risk, while promoting best practices that improve overall code quality.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, information security, and business stakeholders to rapidly develop deep domain knowledge.
- Develop clear, concise, and thorough technical documentation.
- Participate in scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application development, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
- Provide technical ownership in diagnosing and resolving issues, including identifying workarounds or escalating to appropriate service owners.
- Identify defect trends and partner with development teams to address root causes.
- Leverage artificial intelligence technologies to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of testing efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience, such as 5 years of software engineering).
- 8–12 years of software testing or quality engineering experience.
- Experience in fintech, trading platforms, or financial services.
- Proven experience leading quality efforts for large-scale, internet-based applications.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
