What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Kwik Staff llc.?
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods
- Inspect product for consistency, proper texture, color, viscosity, and flavor (as applicable)
- Check for label accuracy, correct packaging, and expiration/batch codes
- Monitor and document temperature, weight, pH levels, Brix, and other required specs
- Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of production lines and equipment are up to standard
- Identify and report defects, non-conformances, or foreign materials in product or packaging
- Work closely with production staff to ensure quality standards are met throughout the shift
- Complete and maintain detailed QC logs and reports
- Assist with corrective actions if product does not meet specifications
- Follow and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and food safety protocols
- Support internal and external audits, when necessary
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Previous experience in food production or quality control (1-2 years preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety standards, and basic lab procedures
- Comfortable using basic measuring tools (thermometers, pH meters, refractometers, scales, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand production specs, batch sheets, and QC forms
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with production teams
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in warehouse/production environments
