Kuakini Support Services, Inc. Description of Position

Performs medical and administrative duties in an outpatient clinic and urgent care setting. Performs patient care duties and procedures under the supervision and guidance of a licensed nurse or physician, including taking vital signs, assisting with patient examinations, specimen collection, routine office laboratory and diagnostic tests and administering medication or treatments. Performs administrative and office duties including patient registration, scheduling appointments, coding and filling out insurance claims, entering and filing records, coordinating billing, and arranging referrals, laboratory services or hospital admission.

Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma, or equivalent, required. Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program required. Certified Medical Assistant ( AAMA ) or s required. Two (2) years previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic or medical office preferred. One (1) year work experience with medical office billing procedures, filing insurance claims, and medical billing codes is preferred. Basic Life Support ( BLS ), certification required with retraining once every two years.

Starting Hourly Rate $24.50
