Kuakini Medical Center Description of Position
Works collaboratively and under the general direction of a Registered Nurse; is accountable for all patient care given during a shift; and is responsible for following established standards of nursing practice as delineated by the Health System. Advocates teamwork among all members of the health care team.
Qualifications and RequirementsHigh school diploma required. Graduate from an accredited school for Emergency Medical Technicians, with current licensure in the State of Hawaii or current certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) preferred. One (1) year pre-hospital or Emergency Department experience within the past two (2) years required; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilites to meet the minimum qualifications to perfom the essential functions of this position. Must successfully complete orientation period of 6-8 weeks, depending upon clinical skills. Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider required, with retraining once every two years. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training/certification with retraining once every two years.
