Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Asset Leadership
- Lead the performance and oversight of a commercial and residential real estate portfolio, ensuring operational excellence, asset preservation, and long-term value creation
- Establish and implement property management standards, processes, and expectations across all assets
- Partner with leadership on asset strategy, including capital improvements, repositioning, and long-term planning initiatives
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and financial outcomes
- Oversee leasing strategy and performance across the portfolio, including new tenant acquisition and lease renewals, through management of third-party leasing partners
- Ensure leasing activities align with asset objectives, market conditions, and financial targets
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of property managers and property technicians
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across the team
- Drive consistency in execution while developing team capability and bench strength
- Create a culture of ownership, responsiveness, and high-quality service delivery
- Oversee day-to-day property operations across the portfolio, ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are in place and effectively executed
- Identify operational gaps and implement solutions to improve performance and scalability
- Ensure consistent documentation, reporting, and operational discipline across all sites
- Oversee third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to company standards
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts in alignment with operational and financial goals
- Ensure all vendors meet insurance, compliance, and safety requirements
- Lead development and management of operating budgets and capital expenditure plans across the portfolio
- Monitor expenses and financial performance, ensuring alignment with budget and identifying cost efficiencies
- Partner with finance to support forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis
- Ensure a high-quality tenant experience through responsive service, proactive communication, and consistent standards
- Promote strong relationships with tenants, partners, and local stakeholders
- Address escalated tenant concerns and ensure timely, effective resolution
- Identify and mitigate operational and property-related risks across the portfolio
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and safety standards
- Oversee incident reporting, documentation, and follow-up actions as needed
- Translate business priorities into property and asset management strategies
- Drive consistency and scalability across a growing portfolio
- Serve as a key advisor on property-related decisions, investments, and operational improvements
- Identify opportunities to enhance asset value, operational efficiency, and tenant experience
- Operates across a diverse portfolio of assets, which may include commercial, mixed-use, hospitality-adjacent, and development-stage properties
- Partners across business verticals to ensure property strategy supports broader enterprise priorities
- Directly leads property managers and property technicians
- Responsible for hiring, performance management, coaching, and development of team members
- Provides direction, prioritization, and oversight across the portfolio
Position involves leadership responsibilities:
- Provides strategic leadership and guidance in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Leads the overall direction, coordination, and performance optimization of assigned function, department, or business.
- Manages talent acquisition processes including candidate selection, onboarding, and professional development initiatives for team members.
- Ensures comprehensive performance evaluation and development planning for all direct reports, conducting formal assessments annually in accordance with organizational standards.
- This position will have access to supervision as needed to resolve issues or problems.
- 8 years of experience in commercial real estate, property management, or asset management
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, including property managers and/or technical staff
- Strong understanding of commercial property operations, including maintenance, vendor management, and tenant relations
- Experience managing multiple properties or a real estate portfolio
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive operational performance
- Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers
- Experience operating in a multi-entity or complex organizational environment
- Exposure to capital planning, asset repositioning, or development coordination
- Familiarity with property management systems and reporting tools
- Strong operator who translates strategy into execution
- Builds accountability and consistency across teams
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Communicates clearly and partners effectively across functions
