Overview

Krause Group is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Intern to support the organization’s growth strategy by contributing to the evaluation, execution, and integration of investment and acquisition opportunities across the enterprise.

This role offers a hands-on, project-based experience where the intern will work on active priorities, including pipeline development, financial analysis, and due diligence. The position provides exposure to how Krause Group evaluates opportunities, allocates capital, and drives long-term enterprise value creation across a diverse portfolio of businesses.

About The Opportunity

The Mergers & Acquisitions function plays a critical role in advancing Krause Group’s strategic growth initiatives. In this role, you will support efforts across the deal lifecycle — from early-stage pipeline development through diligence and integration planning — while gaining insight into how strategic investments are evaluated and executed.

You will work cross-functionally with teams including Finance, Legal, and Grow People, contributing to initiatives that inform investment decisions and support successful execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the identification and tracking of potential acquisition and investment opportunities
  • Conduct market, industry, and competitive research to inform deal sourcing and strategy
  • Assist in financial analysis, including valuation support, benchmarking, and scenario modeling
  • Prepare materials to support internal discussions, including investment memos and summary analyses
  • Organize and analyze data during due diligence processes
  • Support cross-functional coordination across Finance, Legal, and Grow People during transaction activity
  • Contribute to the development of tools, templates, and processes that improve M&A execution

Intern Project

  • Own a structured, high-impact project aligned to Krause Group’s growth priorities
  • Example projects may include building an M&A pipeline tracker and prioritization framework aligned to strategic criteria
  • Develop a market landscape analysis for a target sector or geography
  • Create a valuation benchmarking tool using comparable companies and transactions
  • Support a due diligence workstream and synthesize findings into key insights
  • Contribute to a Post-Merger Integration (PMI) framework, including cross-functional inputs

Final Deliverables

  • Executive-ready presentation to senior leadership summarizing analysis, insights, and recommendations
  • Supporting tools (model, dashboard, or framework) that can be utilized beyond the internship

What You’ll Gain

  • Exposure to enterprise-level M&A strategy and investment decision-making
  • Hands-on experience across multiple stages of the deal lifecycle
  • Opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives tied to organizational growth
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a dynamic, multi-industry environment

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with financial modeling preferred
  • Interest in M&A, private equity, corporate strategy, or investments
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, structured insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Skills And Competencies

  • Exposure to valuation methodologies (e.g., DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions)
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python
  • Familiarity with financial statements and business performance metrics
  • Previous internship experience or relevant coursework in finance, strategy, or consulting
