Job Title:
Biopharma Warehouse Supervisor (Shift Lead / Team Lead)
Job Summary:
The Biopharma Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations within a regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment. This role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient handling of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and company standards. The Supervisor leads a team, coordinates shift activities, and maintains inventory accuracy while supporting production and distribution needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Oversight
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping
- Coordinate shift operations to meet production schedules and customer demand
- Ensure proper handling of temperature-sensitive and controlled materials (e.g., cold chain, hazardous goods)
- Monitor workflow, productivity, and staffing levels
Compliance & Quality
- Enforce compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), GDP, and internal SOPs
- Ensure proper documentation (batch records, inventory logs, deviation reports)
- Support internal and external audits (FDA, regulatory bodies)
- Investigate and document deviations, CAPAs, and discrepancies
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory using WMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- Oversee cycle counts, reconciliation, and stock rotation (FEFO/FIFO)
- Manage quarantine, release, and rejection of materials
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, train, and mentor warehouse associates
- Assign tasks and monitor performance during shift
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
- Conduct shift handovers and communicate key updates
Safety & Environmental
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and site safety policies
- Oversee proper handling of biohazardous or hazardous materials
- Lead incident reporting and corrective actions
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors
- Participate in lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen)
- Support implementation of new systems or procedures
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
- 3–5 years of warehouse/logistics experience in biopharma, pharma, or regulated industry
- 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of GMP/GDP regulations
- Experience with WMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Familiarity with cold chain logistics and controlled substances handling
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
