Location: 111 S George Mason Dr, Arlington, VA 22204
*On site, five (5) days a week. (0730-1630 Monday-Friday). Remote and recurring telework are strictly prohibited for this role.
Employment type: Full time, exempt
Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required at start of employment. *Must be eligible for access to classified network environments.
Travel: Minimal. Occasional local travel within the Washington commuting area.
Compensation: $150,000 – $185,000 per year. Commensurate with experience and proposal ceilings.
Period of Performance: September 28, 2026 through March 27, 2030 (1 year 3 option years)
Position Summary
Kenney Business Solutions is actively seeking qualified candidates to submit as part of a proposed a Senior Microsoft 365 and Power Platform Solution Architect in support of the National Guard Bureau in Arlington, Virginia. This candidate will serve as the technical lead for an enterprise knowledge management platform. This candidate will serve as the hands on architect for the client's knowledge environment across both unclassified and classified Microsoft 365 tenants, build a centralized automation and reporting tool, and design a catalog of reusable, portable solutions that more than fifty semi-autonomous component organizations can deploy into their own tenants.
*This is a hands-on architecture role, not an oversight role.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect the enterprise knowledge platform. Define information architecture, hub and site structures, content types, metadata models, taxonomy standards, permissions models, and lifecycle rules at enterprise scale.
- Design and deliver a centralized automation and reporting tool incorporating program KPIs, project tracking, milestone plans, metrics, and heat maps, built on Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. Prototype due within six months of start; full implementation within the first year.
- Execute an initial platform build in a classified network environment, including secure configuration and accreditation coordination.
- Build executive dashboards providing near real-time common operational picture views for senior leadership, refreshed weekly, aggregating content health, lifecycle compliance, training throughput, engagement, and adoption analytics.
- Develop the reusable solution catalog. Package, document, version, and support modular solutions so that independent component organizations can deploy them into separate tenants with minimal assistance.
- Integrate data and AI capabilities including Microsoft 365 Copilot, semantic and predictive search, and automated content tagging, consistent with federal platform governance and cybersecurity constraints.
- Author platform governance. Develop and maintain Microsoft 365 governance policies, procedures, configuration standards, and naming conventions.
- Align information architecture with records and metadata requirements, coordinating content types, naming conventions, and permissions with the client's records management office.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of eight (8) years designing, building, and sustaining enterprise-scale SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Deep Power Platform expertise: Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, including solution architecture, environment strategy, and application lifecycle management.
- Enterprise information architecture: site and hub structures, content types, managed metadata and term stores, taxonomy design, and content lifecycle rules.
- Secure configuration experience across both unclassified and classified network environments in a federal or DoD setting.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business and knowledge requirements such as information flow needs, taxonomy constraints, metadata models, and governance rules into working technical solutions.
- Experience building solutions intended for reuse across multiple independent tenants or organizations.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert (PL-600).
- Microsoft 365 Copilot deployment experience in a Government Community Cloud environment.
- Prior delivery in a Department of Defense classified Microsoft 365 environment.
- Microsoft Purview, records management, or information governance experience.
- PowerShell automation for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience supporting a federated organization with semi-autonomous component IT environments.
