Forklift Operator

Americana Tire and Wheel, a division of American Kenda Rubber, is an innovative and progressive tire and wheel supplier to the trailer industry. We are a market leader in supplying tire and wheel assemblies to trailer manufacturers and distributors.

Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with a half hour lunch.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

• Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in a test
• Basic understanding of situational awareness and forklift safety
• Follow OSHA guidelines
  
  

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Previous warehouse or forklift experience is required
  
  

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Proficient with order pulling duties
• Ability to learn and become proficient in at least one forklift position
• Conduct safety inspections on assigned forklift to ensure safe operation
• Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items
• Proactively observe production/assembly lines and anticipate timing for required materials and remove completed pallets of finished goods from the area
• Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads
• Reports any problems to Warehouse Lead or Operations Manager
• Performs other duties as assigned
  
  

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

• Work is usually performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment
• Physical demands of the position are sitting and lifting
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs at one time
• This is a safety-sensitive position
