Sr Revenue Accountant

KBW is partnered with a long-standing, Portland, ME based client in their search for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join its accounting team. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a strong understanding of revenue accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting.

The good faith salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000 DOE.

Responsibilities

• Manage revenue accounting activities, including revenue recognition, billing, and related account reconciliations.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis.
• Review revenue transactions for accuracy and compliance with established accounting policies.
• Prepare and maintain revenue-related schedules and supporting documentation.
• Analyze revenue activity and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.
• Reconcile revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and other related balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with financial reporting and provide analysis to support management decision-making.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, Sales, Operations, and other internal stakeholders.
• Support audits and provide documentation and analysis as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with meaningful revenue accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience with revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both accounting and non-accounting teams.
