Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations for multiple clients, including general ledger, AP, payroll, and financial reporting
- Oversee monthly and annual close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Manage and mentor onshore and offshore accounting teams performing transactional and technical accounting activities
- Review accounting records to identify and resolve inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and imbalances
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and client-specific financial models
- Advise clients on technical accounting matters and GAAP requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits and coordinate timely completion of audit requests
- Manage communications with clients, vendors, banks, partners, and other stakeholders
- Assist clients with accounting system conversions, implementations, and cleanup of books and records
- Monitor adherence to internal accounting procedures, processes, and controls
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, technology, and operational efficiency
- Lead the 409(A) valuation process for common stock and provide guidance to clients
- Develop trusted relationships with clients and serve as a strategic accounting advisor
- 6 years of progressive accounting experience
- 2 years of Big 4 or regional public accounting audit experience
- Experience working with life sciences companies strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting processes
- Experience managing accounting activities across multiple entities
- Excellent knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Experience working with multiple accounting/ERP systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Dynamics, NetSuite, Intacct, or similar platforms
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA, MBA or other professional certification is a plus
- Experience participating in an ERP implementation is a plus
