KBW Financial Staffing & Recruitment is partnering with a growing, stable organization in Western Massachusetts seeking an experienced Controller to join its leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking accounting leader with strong cost and inventory experience who wants to move beyond traditional accounting and serve as a true business partner to operations and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Lead cost and inventory accounting, including costing, variances, valuation, and controls
• Analyze margins, profitability, inventory trends, and operational performance
• Partner with leadership and operations on strategic business decisions
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased efficiencies
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
• Lead and develop the accounting team
  
  

Qualifications

• Progressive accounting leadership experience; Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred
• Strong cost and inventory accounting background
• Manufacturing, distribution, or similar industry experience preferred
• Strong GAAP, financial reporting, and analytical skills
• Proven ability to improve processes and challenge the status quo
• Collaborative, hands-on leadership style with a business-partner mindset
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  
  

Compensation: Up to $150,000 base bonus
