Seeking an experienced and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support for a 27-year-old male in SE Portland. He is looking for part time help approximately up to 24 hours a week. He enjoys cooking, being social, going to the gym, and has a strong work ethic. Support will focus on building ADL/IADL skills, including housework and budgeting, setting up and geting him to his music classes, becoming more comfortable with longer car rides and wearing headphones for short periods in the car, reducing his fear of flying, having one meal per week with family, increasing social integration, and enjoying day trips to the beach and other nearby attractions. The ideal DSP is patient, supportive, active, and reliable. A reliable vehicle is required for transportation, and the DSP should be comfortable with him singing while they drive. There are dogs and birds in the home, and no smoking.
Schedule:
- Any day 12:00pm-6:00pm preferably 4 days a week
- Approximately up to 24 hours a week
Candidate Must have-
- Driving license and reliable transportation
- Communication skills requiring patience and understanding
- Ability to provide occasional assistance with daily tasks

As a Kangaroo Caregiver, you will provide in home assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s) to support and maximize our client’s quality of life. Kangaroo Care delivers the training and resources to give our caregivers top-quality skills in a meaningful work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help plan and assist in preparing some meals, including serving, if necessary
- Assist with dressing, grooming
- Assist in daily living activities and needs
- Participate in life enriching activities
- A caregiver may assist with medication reminders
- Complete required shift notes and scheduling via our caregiver app
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Record and report changes in client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
