About the Opportunity
We are representing a leading industrial energy facility seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee all mechanical and electrical/instrumentation (E&I) maintenance operations. This is a high-impact leadership role within a non-union plant environment focused on safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
This facility converts post-recycled waste into renewable energy, supporting thousands of homes and businesses.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager will lead a team consisting of a Maintenance Supervisor and approximately 10 technicians (mechanical and E&I). This individual will drive maintenance strategy, oversee plant reliability, and ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all maintenance activities including preventative, predictive, and corrective programs
- Manage daily work planning, outages, and long-term maintenance strategy
- Supervise, train, and develop maintenance personnel
- Oversee CMMS utilization, work orders, and maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
- Manage contractors, budgets, and spare parts inventory
- Drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability and plant performance
- Support plant operations through troubleshooting and technical leadership
Qualifications
- Background in power generation (waste-to-energy, coal, natural gas, nuclear preferred; refining considered)
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field
- 6–8 years of relevant experience
- 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of steam-generating plant operations and maintenance
- Experience with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office
Additional Requirements
- Must pass background check, physical, and drug screening
- Facility requires ability to wear a respirator (clean-shaven policy applies)
- Occasional travel (up to 25%)
Work Environment
- Industrial plant setting with exposure to noise, heights, confined spaces, and PPE requirements
- Physical activity includes climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working on elevated platforms
