What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant position at Just Construction Recruitment?
In this role, you’ll manage financial aspects of glazing/façade projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, billing, forecasting, and financial reporting to support operational decisions and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Process project invoices, subcontractor payments, change order billing and monitor payment status.
- Track project financials: cost-to-complete, budget vs actuals, forecasting and margin analysis.
- Reconcile job cost ledgers, provide variance reports and support senior management with financial insights.
- Work with PMs and operations to ensure accurate cost coding, change order capture and timely financial close-out.
- Generate financial reports for clients, internal management, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and relevant construction accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA or CPA-track is a plus.
- 3-7 years in project accounting within construction or contracting. Experience with job-costing systems (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore/CMiC) is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, Excel and reporting skills; ability to communicate with PMs and finance stakeholders.
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
