Position Overview:
The Low Voltage Estimating Manager will lead the estimating and preconstruction efforts for all low voltage and structured cabling projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage estimating processes, mentor junior estimators, and work closely with clients, vendors, and project managers to deliver accurate, competitive, and timely proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all low voltage and structured cabling estimating activities.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, take-offs, and bid proposals for commercial projects.
- Lead, train, and mentor a small team of estimators and preconstruction staff.
- Review design drawings, specifications, and RFP documents to determine scope of work.
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, and operations teams during preconstruction.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing.
- Ensure all estimates align with company goals, margin targets, and project timelines.
- Participate in bid reviews and value engineering discussions.
Requirements:
- RCDD Certification (Required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in low voltage estimating or design-build structured cabling projects.
- Strong understanding of systems including data, voice, fire alarm, security, and AV.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring estimating teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
