VP of IT Operations

Juno is supporting a confidential search for a Vice President of Systems & IT Operations to join a rapidly growing healthcare organization. This executive will lead the strategy and execution of IT infrastructure, systems, and operations across a multi-site, regulated environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced operator who can scale technology responsibly, ensure uptime and security, and evolve existing systems without disrupting critical clinical and business operations. The role requires an on-site presence between Birdsboro, King of Prussia, and remote work, with hands-on engagement across key locations.

Role Scope

The VP, Systems & IT Operations will be accountable for:

• Day-to-day reliability, performance, and security of enterprise IT systems
• Multi-location infrastructure supporting frontline clinical and administrative teams
• Balancing innovation and modernization with operational stability and compliance
• Leading a technical team while remaining deeply engaged in execution

Key Responsibilities

IT Operations & Infrastructure

• Own and operate Linux-based and Microsoft environments supporting enterprise and clinical users
• Oversee networking, VPNs, firewalls, and secure remote access across multiple locations
• Manage data center and colocation environments, including backups, disaster recovery, and resilience
• Ensure high availability and performance of patient-facing platforms and SaaS clinical systems

Open-Source & Modern Platforms

• Lead deployment and support of open-source technologies and collaboration platforms
• Oversee containerized environments and Docker-based services and workflows
• Support pragmatic adoption of new tools while maintaining legacy systems as needed

Security & Compliance

• Ensure systems and operations align with HIPAA and healthcare security standards
• Implement and enforce access controls, authentication, and security best practices
• Partner with leadership to maintain audit readiness and operational trust

Scaling & Growth

• Scale IT operations to support rapid growth across existing and new locations
• Standardize infrastructure and processes without over-centralization or disruption
• Design systems that can grow from current scale to significantly larger footprints

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor a hands-on technical team across systems, infrastructure, and operations
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex operational issues
• Foster a culture of ownership, reliability, and continuous improvement

Required Experience & Skills

• Senior IT leadership experience at the VP, Director, or equivalent level in IT Operations or Infrastructure
• Deep, hands-on experience with Linux system administration
• Strong background supporting Windows and Microsoft enterprise environments
• Solid experience with networking, VPNs, and security
• Hands-on exposure to Docker or containerized platforms
• Experience supporting multi-site or distributed environments
• Proven ability to operate in regulated industries, with healthcare strongly preferred
• Track record of scaling systems without disruptive rip-and-replace initiatives
• Strong incident management, uptime, and operational discipline
