Job Summary
The Director of Psychiatric Services will oversee the psychiatric services department. This role will supervise staff and provide leadership to the department. The Director of Psychiatric Services is responsible for creating and implementing new policies and procedures to ensure compliance with guidelines under CARF and BALC. This role will work with the psychiatric services team in coordination with the broader clinical team to advocate and ensure our patients' care. This role will assist with maintaining a high level of client and personnel satisfaction.

Job Summary
The Director of Psychiatric Services will oversee the psychiatric services department. This role will supervise staff and provide leadership to the department. This role will work with the psychiatric services team in coordination with the broader clinical team to advocate and ensure our patients' care. This role will assist with maintaining a high level of client and personnel satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities And Metrics
- Oversee the psychiatric services department which includes APRN’s, Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Services Manager, case managers, coordinators and schedulers with the intention of ensuring departmental success i.e., productivity, client satisfaction, effective and efficient policies, processes, and procedures
- Manage APRNs so that productivity targets are met, and all tools and oversight are provided to staff who have monthly productivity expectations
- Oversee the onboarding and offboarding of psychiatric services staff members including Rush Fellows, Psychiatric Providers, Psychiatric Services Manager, case managers, coordinators and schedulers
- Provide medication evaluation and monitoring appointments at 35% target of work week
- Manage, create and implement new policies and procedures to ensure compliance with guidelines under CARF and BALC
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and those that focus on improving delivery of medication management services, treatment planning
- Address client related issues and patient complaints with psychiatric providers within two (2) weeks of receiving initial inquiry
- Oversee all aspects of medication management
- Oversee the medication line including all medication refills and prior authorization process, address all requests within 24 -48 hours
- Oversee all clients on long acting injectables (LAIs), administer long acting injectables (LAIs) and perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) as needed
- Collaborate with the Psychiatric Services Manager to manage the Sample Drug inventory to include:
- Logs samples in
- Manages sample supply
- Facilitates communication between Josselyn Center doctors and drug reps
- Discards expired samples
- Handles biohazardous waste appropriately
- Provide brief crisis intervention, stabilization services and supportive counseling to meds only clients.
- Performs additional tasks and projects as deemed necessary by the Chief Clinical Officer
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or higher preferred.
- Licensure: Active APRN license required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings.
