What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT OFFICER position at Joint Chiefs of Staff?
Part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Responsible for the production of read-ahead packages to support the Chairman in his role as the senior military advisor to the President, Secretary of Defense, Congress, and National Security Council. Delivers functional support through customer service and capabilities enhancement across the Joint Staff for the application of collaborative tools to improve content quality, support continuity, and records management.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:

Qualifications:
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
- Manages the processes of information capture (ensuring the Joint Staff delivers the information required by the Top 4 (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Director and Vice Director), adhering to established standards, access (ensuring the necessary personnel can access the information, and dissemination (ensuring the information is properly packaged for the Top 4 and others who require it;
- Identifies and defines management strategies and milestones related the integration and sustainment of Joint Staff Read Ahead and Enterprise Collaboration Support services which includes developing policies, programs, and projects;
- Integrating read ahead and collaborative support activities across Joint Staff; assessing proposed policy actions for potential impacts/risks to current and future operations;
- Acts as senior liaison delivering status updates and staff briefings to Senior Leaders, maintains effective working relationships with Joint Staff internal, the Military Services, and OSD principal staff elements; and other Federal agencies and departments and reports budget data, as requested;
- Establishes and maintains standard operating procedures, guidance, and training documentation for the use of JS collaboration tools;
- Responsible for communication/coordination for collaboration tools governance through a cross-functional change control board; assists with drafting charter supporting governance/change control board initiation; develops products, coordinates briefing artifacts, and develops processes to record/report items raised (voted on during working sessions).

Responsibilities:
As a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT OFFICER at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:- Manages the processes of information capture (ensuring the Joint Staff delivers the information required by the Top 4 (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Director and Vice Director), adhering to established standards), access ( ensuring the necessary personnel can access the information), and dissemination (ensuring the information is properly packaged for the Top 4 and others who require it)
- Provides oversight of the methods used to capture and share the Chairman's read-ahead materials and ensures preservation of historical documentation relating to the read-ahead products submitted to JS leadership
- Implements and ensures compliance with approved governance standards within assigned tools; supports requests for assistance with collaboration tools as directed by leadership; conducts routine engagement and communications with JS users and gathers feedback for future needs assessment and planning
- Responsible for communication/coordination for collaboration tools governance through a cross-functional change control board; assists with drafting charter supporting governance/change control board initiation; develops products, coordinates briefing artifacts, and develops processes to record/report items raised (voted on) during working sessions
- Responsible for the development and sustainment of the planning/decision products, to include the collaboration roadmap, governance board artifacts, and various supporting documentation (requirements packages, voting artifacts and decision briefs).
