Position Summary
The Account Supervisor is responsible for interfacing with the customer electronic data management of ISF filings with US Customs, international documentation, Customs entries and customer service. Work with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and other governmental agencies and regulations. Develop and maintain positive customer relations and coordinate with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Track incoming shipments and advise importers of any delays/discrepancies.
- Coordinate delivery with importer, cut delivery order and dispatch to trucker
- Check importer's account receivables status to see if they have overdue invoices and notify and appropriate party, JSC sales person or importer that money is due.
- Process billing invoice.
- Act as a liaison between the Import/customer and John S. Connor, Inc.
- Keep both entities fully informed of any pertinent information that may affect the relationship between the two.
- Any other duties as assigned by manager
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Prior experience in vessel operations, port agency, or maritime logistics preferred but not required
- Need to be able to type, handle a computer and the internet programs offered by the company to its customers. Use a calculator, fax machine, copier, multi-use telephone, e-mail scanner and other office machinery. Must be able to size up situations quickly, determine the best possible solution to the problem. If need be, if no solution comes to mind, be able to recognized this reality and ask for advise and help.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to type, handle a computer and the internet programs offered by the company to its customers
- Ability to use a calculator, fax machine, copier, multi-use telephone, email scanner, and other office machinery
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and time-sensitive operations effectively
