About the Role
We are hiring a Maintenance Technician on behalf of one of our clients. This role involves performing inspection, root cause analysis, and repair of mechanical systems, along with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical systems across the plant
- Assist with inspections, troubleshooting, and root cause failure analysis
- Support preventive maintenance activities, including servicing and lubrication of equipment
- Work with contractors to ensure quality and productivity standards are met
- Collaborate with process teams to gather information and resolve operational issues
- Participate in technical training and cross-functional skill development
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs
- Take initiative to resolve issues independently when appropriate
- Participate in team meetings and support various plant functions as needed
- Work rotating shifts, including weekends as required
- Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education:
- Technical college training in a related field
Experience:
- 2–4 years of industrial experience as a millwright
- Experience with gearbox rebuilding, shaft alignment, and bearing installation preferred
Skills and Requirements
- Knowledge of cement plant operations or similar heavy industrial environments preferred
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends
Additional Requirements
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of PPE, including respirators where required
- Must meet respirator fit requirements (clean-shaven where applicable)
