About the Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician – Distribution on behalf of one of our clients to support inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems within a cement plant environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring equipment reliability through preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance tasks on mechanical systems across the plant
- Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and root cause failure analysis
- Support preventive maintenance activities, including servicing and lubrication of equipment
- Assist in repair and rebuilding of plant equipment components
- Collaborate with contractor personnel to ensure quality and productivity
- Communicate effectively with process teams to resolve operational issues
- Participate in training programs and cross-functional skill development
- Suggest and implement improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to operational discussions
- Work rotating shifts and weekends as required
- Support other plant functions and duties as assigned
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
- Technical college education in a related field
Experience
- 2–4 years of industrial experience as a millwright or maintenance technician
- Experience with gearbox rebuilding, shaft alignment, and bearing installation preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
- Familiarity with heavy industrial or cement plant operations preferred
- Ability to work with mechanical systems and rotating equipment
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE, including respirators where required
Work Environment
- Industrial plant setting with exposure to heavy machinery, dust, noise, and varying environmental conditions
