About the Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician on behalf of one of our clients to support reliable plant operations. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, and maintaining equipment while promoting a strong culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment such as conveyors, pumps, crushers, dryers, and gearboxes
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Fabricate, weld, cut, and assemble mechanical components
- Install, align, and move equipment based on engineering drawings
- Operate mobile equipment (e.g., forklifts, man lifts, service trucks) safely
- Follow all safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), working at heights, and confined space procedures
- Document maintenance activities and communicate findings
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to minimize downtime
- Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support general plant housekeeping and operational efficiency
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- 3 years in industrial maintenance or millwright roles
- Experience in cement, mining, aggregates, or heavy manufacturing preferred
- Mobile equipment operation experience is an advantage
Skills and Requirements
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
- Skilled in welding, cutting, grinding, and mechanical assembly
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Comfortable working in physically demanding and industrial environments
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call when required
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE (including respirators if required)
