Position Summary
The Supply Chain FSQA Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving food safety and quality assurance programs across the supply chain to ensure alignment with brand standards and regulatory requirements. This role leads the creation of scalable policies and processes that support the brand’s “A Sub Above” quality and operational excellence expectations.
Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, the FSQA Program Manager ensures consistent execution of food safety and quality expectations from suppliers and distribution partners through restaurant operations, driving risk reduction, compliance, and overall system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, Implement, and continuously improve food safety and quality programs supporting supplier and distribution partner approval, compliance and ongoing performance.
- Partner closely with Supply Chain category managers and distribution/logistics teams to define, communicate, and ensure execution of food safety and quality expectations.
- Lead ongoing product evaluations and benchmarking activities to very alignment with product specifications, category standards, and brand requirements.
- Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to conduct product testing (e.g., yield studies) and provide recommendations for product quality and performance improvements.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end supply chain and the operational impacts of robust food safety and quality policies, programs, and controls.
- Monitor applicable food safety regulations and emerging legislation, providing timely updates and actionable recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships that align with Jersey Mike’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
- Collaborate across the broader Supply Chain organization to align on business initiatives, project priorities, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support contract development and review to ensure supplier and distribution agreements reflect current food safety and quality standards.
- Identify, assess, and proactively communicate active or emerging food safety and quality risks within the supply chain.
- Administer product hold, retrieval, and disposition processes in partnership with suppliers, distribution partners, and restaurant operations.
- Participate in cross-functional business meetings as a food safety and quality subject matter expert and representative of Supply Chain FSQA.
- Serve as the backup for the Supply Chain FSQA Systems Manager, supporting continuity of key systems and program execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA), including regulatory compliance and supplier and distribution partner oversight.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and managing food safety and quality programs across the supply chain, including familiarity with GFSI-based standards and industry best practices.
- Ability to travel up to 10% and maintain flexibility in work hours as needed to support critical supply chain events, audits, or emerging issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with data management and quality systems software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively support cross-functional collaboration and execution of the essential duties and responsibilities of the role.

Salary : $88,800 - $124,300
