What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate FSQA Program Manager position at FPL FOOD, LLC?
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Assure that Quality Systems (i.e. Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certifications) meet and/or exceed the internal and external customer expectations at all facilities. Responsible for learning and sharing knowledge in the requirements of third-party auditors such as HACCP, BRC, and USDA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Provide leadership to facility personnel regarding GFSI standard interpretation and implementation guidance that result in achieving and maintaining GFSI certification.
• Administer, monitor, audit, and innovate quality systems across all production facilities.
• Write Corporate policy/procedure documents, internal Quality Manual, BRC, USDA, Department of Agriculture. Include all pertinent documentation filed within and provide clear expectations for the successful implementation of Quality Systems and GFSI Standards.
• Evaluate HACCP/SSOP/Pre-Requisite Programs and execution for compliance with current regulations and internal expectations.
• HACCP/Food Safety team leader. Oversee and participate on the recall and crisis management team.
• Ensure compliance to specifications from FPL and those mandated by customers.
• Conduct audits of procedures used in all areas of the plants, issuing a completed report with corrective actions to relevant managers and supervisors.
• Maintain schedule calendars to stay on track with QA task calendar and training.
• Conduct follow-up with Managers to ensure that corrective actions to deviations are being completed in a timely manner.
• Maintain records related to product safety, legality, and quality systems.
• Oversee the management of each facilities food safety training program. Ensure appropriate and timely training is being conducted at all facilities. Monitor training records.
• Keep informational paperwork current including Halal, Organic, Export verification and other certificates, supplier letters of continuing guarantee, supplier lot code verification and supplier food defense compliance letters.
• Prepare for and conduct 3rd party audits in the plants.
• Perform Supplier audits as needed for packaging, raw material, and other suppliers to FPL
• Help manage vendors in the facility including chemicals, sanitation, pest control, etc.
• Write, maintain, and assist with various data collection projects and traceability exercises.
• Manage and control the document control program
• Maintain, administer, and improve food safety and quality systems for key customer.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Food Science, or Meat Science
Master's preferred
Experience
3 – 5 years of experience in a food processing environment
Experience in beef slaughter or processing preferred.

Salary : $80,000 - $135,000
