Accounts Payable Specialist II

Position Summary

This position serves as a technical expert within the Accounts Payable team. The AP II is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function across multiple production facilities, supporting the month-end close process, and assisting accounting management with various duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounts payable function for multiple production facilities
• Process invoices on a daily basis
• Follow up with vendors and internal personnel to resolve accounts payable issues
• Prepare financial and management reports as required
• Prepare supporting documentation for month-end closing journal entries
• Understand, communicate, and enforce accounting policies and procedures established by FPL

Education

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  OR
• 5–10 years of accounts payable experience (manufacturing industry preferred)

Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in accounts payable
• 5–10 years of experience with accounting systems and procedures

Skills & Competencies

• Demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service and relationship management skills
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in:

• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Outlook

Travel Requirements: Up to 10% travel may be required
